POSTBOX is a British & Australian music-group, with Tureen & ENZO being from the UK, and grza3 being from Australia. The reason they're called a music-group, and not a band, is they don't collaborate on every song they make, instead they make their own songs separately, respectfully & retrospectively, whilst only sometimes collaborating on songs.

Note 1

edit

To clear up some confusion, three people also called "ENZO" somehow merged with POSTBOX ENZO's Spotify artist account, so anything other than POSTBOX projects on that Spotify artist account, are NOT ENZO, of POSTBOX.

Note 2

edit

Following the release of POSTBOX's debut album, "Apocalypse" on streaming, for whatever reason in the distribution process, the album merged over with an Indian band's Apple Music page, whom which also goes under the name "Postbox".

History

Formation and beginning / Apocalypse / Apocalypse: Master Edition (2022–2023)

edit

The band started one day while chatting in a discord server of a previously failed band in 2022, started by people that grza3 knew for a short time, called “SPOOK”, a Gorillaz and Your Favorite Martian inspired band created by someone named “balls”, which had one song completed for it, called “Halloween”, produced by grza3 without any vocals, but were always planned. Nothing was being made for the band for a while, as no goals were ever set other than grza3 procrastinating writing lyrics for "Halloween", and an animated music video for it, but she left it unfinished, with the band's eventual and slow emptiness of a fate. One night, grza3 brought up the idea of starting another band while talking to Tureen in the SPOOK discord server, and they were both immediately on-board with it. They both brainstormed a few ideas, like lyrics of a now scrapped song called "Till' you're gone", came up by Tureen. Eventually, 2 short bad demos ended up being created of part of the lyrics when they were finalised, with Tureen's being 7 seconds long, and grza3's being 13. At the time, the name of the band was "lightmouse", which was came up by grza3, being inspired by deadmau5.

At this point in time, Tureen has just made a group chat with grza3, to discuss POSTBOX, and now there's two (now scrapped) albums in mind, “fruit juice” (thought of by grza3), and “Red” (thought of by Tureen), with fruit juice's cover (created by Tureen) containing grza3 and Tureen in real life, edited next to each other on a plain bright green background, being inspired by Weezer’s Self-Titled Blue Album, and Red's cover (also created by Tureen) containing a blocky red mailbox, with letters reading "POSTBOX" inside of it. Red has only ever had one song made for it, which is titled “Just Pay With The Card” (with everything being made by Tureen), with a snippet demo of it releasing on a now abandoned POSTBOX SoundCloud page, that was eventually found and quickly deleted when Tureen found the password again in late 2023, along with another song that was set to private that grza3 saw on Tureen's screenshare, right as he was deleting it.

A little later after the 2 album ideas were flushed down the drain, Tureen decided to add ENZO to the group chat on November 17, 2022. No work on the music group was done until the 7th of January, 2023, where grza3 messaged and attempted to remind everyone about the group, in hopes to not let it die out like SPOOK did. Shortly after the message was sent, ENZO started working on a song. Fast forward to a day later, ENZO had an idea for an album and AI-generated the album cover using the (for the time being) popular text to AI-generated image website; “craiyon”. After generating another image for a song ENZO was working on, he generated the cover for “Apocalypse”, which shortly lead to the name of the group being “POSTBOX”. A few days later, the group chat becomes inactive once again. Fast forward to May 11th, 2023, grza3 revives the group chat again, mentioning how she feels like she's able to make more upbeat sounding music now. 10 days later, Tureen sends a private SoundCloud link of “this is a 6 minute song”, which was unrelatedly made in 27 minutes, from a screenshot Tureen sent. Fast forward 10 more days on May 31st, 2023, nearly all the tracks of “Apocalypse” had been completed (shown in a private SoundCloud playlist screenshot sent by Tureen), where it was only missing “LEGENDARY BATTLE: Final Fight” by ENZO, which would be finished the next day on June 1st, which was initially jokingly called “TOE GORE” for a while because of an Undertale meme that ENZO sent a day prior.

The first Master Edition track that's present on Apocalypse: Master Edition ("never ending flow"), was initially the first track of Apocalypse, and the first track that was posted to the new POSTBOX Soundcloud account, but was deleted slowly after the release of Apocalypse, live on Tureen's screenshare in a Discord call with grza3, due to Tureen not liking it anymore, but grza3 managed to download the track right as Soundcloud's servers were processing the deletion. A few weeks later, grza3 asked Tureen if she could put never ending flow on some sort of special, or bonus track edition of Apocalypse. Tureen said yes, and so up until a month later, in September 2023, the name “Apocalypse (Bonus Track Edition)” was reconsidered, and so Tureen suggested "Apocalypse: Master Edition", the descriptor that's been used ever since!
