Early life

edit

PA.II began singing at the tender age of 7, recording his first song at 12. He started as a member of a duo, P Diamond and later founded YC (Yoop Cast), an artist initiative made up of pre-teen and teenage singers, rappers and their supporters while in high school (Stella Marris in Abuja). It was behind this assembly that he released songs like 'Hot Girl' and 'The Way You Whine' in 2010. After his move to Canada at 17, he established Zero Music Group (ZMG) alongside Ehiz Omokhui operating out of Toronto and Oshawa, under which the concept- "ILLAH" was born. NYAMA NYAMA SOUND was launched shortly after and has been the home to many projects including NYAMA NYAMA EXP,ILLAH V and ILLAH U.

Career

edit

Patrick started out as a casual singer and then rapper before ultimately becoming a recording artist and record producer. In 2013, he enrolled at the prestigous Remix Project where he gain experience.

At 19, he put out his first EP in the form of a trilogy in 2014/2015 ILLAH X, ILLAH Y and ILLAH Z. This "ILLAH" concept will go on to live a long and rich life. He did some production work for local acts such as Grant Chris and international acts like Lady Donli during this time. He also was included on NotJustOk list of the 15 Artists to Watch. NYAMA NYAMA SOUND was launched the same year and housed his first LP- Nyamanyama Exp and two other EPs- ILLAH V[5] and ILLAH U.[6]

He also has released stand-out singles like Bad Boy Outside[7] and Oga Na Thief which received acclaim during the 2023 Nigerian Elections[8]

ILLAH U, released in November also was well received with hit tracks 'Husband Material" and "Collect" receiving air play on CKCU-FM, CBC Radio One and City FM (Lagos). Love and Care, off the project also made it to Exclaim!'s The Eh list, a renowned playlist put together by the magazine[9]

2023 was quite the year for Pa.II, seeing him play at some of the biggest Northern Ontario festivals [10]
