Paul Lukin

Paul Lukin (born 1980) is an award-winning photographer known for his evocative and introspective black & white photography and his mastery of light and shadow. Born in 1980 in Split, Croatia, Lukin began his photographic journey in 2004 and has since developed a distinctive style that often incorporates atmospheric and mysterious undertones, creating emotional and psychological studies of the human condition.

Life and Work

Born in the coastal city of Split, Croatia, in 1980, Lukin started photographing in 2004 and has been obsessed with the medium ever since, creating photographs that are both beautiful and thought-provoking. Lukin’s photographic work focuses on long-term, self-assigned projects that explore the emotional and psychological aspects of the human condition. His images are grainy, dark, and mysterious; his work has often been described as an outward expression of an inner self. Lukin captures candid, fleeting, dreamlike moments. His open-ended narratives of solitary figures offer a glimpse into a world that depicts a sense of loneliness and isolation. Paul Lukin lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand.
