The People's Assembly chamber of the Egyptian Parliament, now located in Egypt's New Administrative Capital (NAC), is a significant feature of the new parliamentary complex. Designed with modern amenities and grand architectural elements, the chamber is part of an extensive complex of over 225,000 square meters. The building includes a basement, ground floor, and eight additional floors, with a central hall for legislative meetings. This main hall is capped by a dome that reaches 65 meters in height and can accommodate up to 1,000 members of parliament, making it one of the largest legislative chambers in the region.
The design emphasizes sustainability and security, utilizing locally sourced materials, high-tech lighting, alarm systems, and advanced central air conditioning. The entire complex includes multiple entrances, security facilities, a medical center, and an underground garage for approximately 1,500 vehicles, demonstrating a modern approach to infrastructure and security. The New Administrative Capital itself, a city being developed about 45 kilometers from Cairo, is envisioned as a high-tech hub with Smart city technology, aiming to ease congestion in Cairo and bring about a new era in Egypt’s governance framework.
As a symbolic and functional seat of government, the complex aligns with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi's development vision for Egypt, supporting both legislative needs and the broader administrative apparatus in a planned, futuristic setting
