"Perfect Stranger" is a song by English singer-songwriter FKA Twigs. It was released on 17 October 2024, as the second single from FKA Twigs' third album Eusexua. Twigs wrote and produced the song alongside Koreless, Ojvolta, and Stargate, with additional production from Stuart Price.[2]
Composition
editMusic journalists described "Perfect Stranger" as a dance-pop[3][4] song with garage influences. Lyrically, the song discusses not wanting to know the intimate details of a potential partner's life, but rather "embracing the present moment".[5] Writing for The New York Times, Jon Pareles claimed Twigs "[made] the case for an anonymous hookup on 'Perfect Stranger'" and considered the track "neater and poppier than most FKA Twigs songs."[6]
Music video
editThe music video for "Perfect Stranger" premiered alongside the single on 17 October 2024. It depicts Twigs in various vignettes of diverse romantic relationships. American musician Yves Tumor, Nigerian-born British designer Mowalola Ogunlesi and English actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge appear as some of her partners.[7][8]
