Company Overview

Headquartered in the greater Philadelphia area, Phenom is an applied AI company that specializes in HR.[1]

Founded in 2010[2] by Mahe Bayireddi, Hari Bayireddi, and Brad Goldoor, the company was originally known as iMomentus. In 2015 it was renamed Phenom People[3] before rebranding to Phenom in 2020.

Phenom serves global enterprise customers across healthcare[4], higher education[5], retail[6], transportation[7], manufacturing, financial services[8], technology & IT and more. Customers include Aspen Dental, Bright Horizons, Dutch Bros Coffee, DHL, Elara Caring, Genpact, Honda, HPE, Mastercard, Michaels, Rally House, Sonesta, Southwest Airlines, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Thales, Truist, United Airlines, UPS, Varsity Brands, Viking, among others.

Phenom has offices[9] in the United States, Canada[10], India, Israel, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Company History

In April 2021, Phenom raised $100 million[11] in Series D funding. At that time, the company achieved "unicorn"[12] status with a valuation of $1.3 billion. In January 2020, Phenom announced it had raised $30 million in Series C funding. [13], In May 2018, Reuters reported Phenom raised $22 million in Series B funding and in October 2015 it was reported the company raised $6 million in Series A funding. Investors include B Capital Group, Dragoneer Investment Group, Omers Growth Equity and GoldenArc Capital.

Partnerships & Certifications

In May 2026, Phenom achieved FedRAMP Ready status[14].

In September 2025, Phenom announced an integration with LinkedIn CRM Connect, connecting Phenom Talent CRM and LinkedIn Recruiter.

In August 2025, Phenom’s platform became available in the AWS Marketplace.

In June 2025, Phenom’s platform became available[15] in the SAP Store.

In March 2025, Phenom formed a strategic alliance[16] with Deloitte. It also announced an integration of Phenom Design Studio and Phenom Talent Experience Engine[17] with Adobe Express.

Awards & Recognition

For six consecutive years, Phenom has been named[26] to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in America. It has also appeared on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 five times. In 2025, Phenom and customer Rally House won[27] a Brandon Hall Award for Best Use of AI for Talent Acquisition, along with Phenom and customer Aspen Dental winning a Brandon Hall Silver Award for Excellence in the ‘Best Use of AI for HR’ category.

Products & Technology:

In March 2026, Phenom announced new AI architecture and service delivery models. Phenom announced its latest generation of AI architecture and service delivery models. This includes Phenom’s hypercell for HR and Phenom WorkOps, a layered ecosystem of AI agents that use enterprise context to customize execution to specific use cases.

Phenom offers multiple AI agents for HR[35]. One example is a candidate fraud detection agent[36], which analyzes candidate behavior for anomalies and surfaces recommendations for hiring managers. This agent uses agentic AI to identify anomalies from a job candidate and makes recommendations to hiring managers and recruiters of steps to take to better determine if the candidate is fraudulent.

Phenom’s voice agent proactively calls job candidates, performs first-phase screening interviews, gathers candidates’ answers in real-time, and automatically flags qualified candidates to recruiters[37]

According to the company[38], Phenom’s platform processes approximately 5 billion data interactions annually and serves around 400 million candidates and 5 million employees.
