Plamen Petrov is a professor at the Department of Animal Sciences at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and chairman of the National Breeding Association for Beekeeping.
Biography
editHe comes from the city of Popovo. He completed of his studies in Moscow. Subsequently, he embarked on his professional career as a specialist at the Experimental Beekeeping Station in Sofia in 1987. He successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled Медоносные пчелы Болгарии, их характерные особености и таксономическое положение (Honey bees of Bulgaria, their characteristic features and taxonomic position) in Moscow in 1991.
Following this, he assumed the role of Director at SST in Popovo from 1992 to 1994, concurrently serving as a senior assistant at the Department of Entomology at Agricultural University in Plovdiv. Later, he was chosen to lead the Department of Entomology at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, a position he held from 2008 to 2012.
His contributions and scholarly achievements culminated in his appointment as a professor in 2016.[1]
