Draft:Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library

Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library Entrance

The Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library, was founded in 1985 when it began as a volunteer-run library within the County Annex Building. The growing demand for library services in the area necessitated a dedicated space, and in 1993, the library moved to its current location on Library Boulevard.

This move was made possible by the efforts of the Friends of the Library Ponte Vedra Beach (FOLPVB), who played a pivotal role in securing funding and advocating for the library's expansion.

Seymour's Bookstore, a bookstore within the library, was established to support the library and provide additional resources to the community.

Named by kids in a 2005 contest, Seymour The Bookworm becam the FOLPVB's official mascot.

Seymour's offers a wide range of used books, DVDs, and other media, all generously donated by community members. The bookstore has lobby sales in addtion to the bookstore. These sales usually occur on a bi-monthly basis.

The library has been considered to have the best childrens program in St. Johns County with the librarians in the childrens section bearing many different child literacy awards.

The library will probably continue to grow and help the community of Ponte Vedra Beach learn more.
