Pretendians Band is a Native American rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formed in 2014, the band is known for infusing a contemporary indigenous lyrical viewpoint with rock music.

Two members of the group are members of the Oceti Ŝakowiŋ (7 Council Fires) of the Dakhota/Lakhota Nation and are enrolled at Standing Rock and Crow Creek.

History

Pretendians Band formed in 2013 at a practice space in Northeast Minneapolis and became an official band after their first show at Art-a-Whirl in Northeast Minneapolis in May of 2014.

In 2018 the group released their first studio album, Pretendians.

In 2023, Pretendians Band released their second studio album, Stories From the Fire.[1]
