Priscilla Thompson is an American television journalist currently working at NBC News as the Texas-based correspondent. She's been with the network since 2019. She was previously at CNN.[1]
Education
[edit]Thompson went to the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.[2]
Career
[edit]Thompson began her career interning at KXAN in Austin, Texas, worked at WPDE in Myrtle Beach and then worked at CNN before moving to NBC in 2019 starting as a campaign embed reporter and then moved up the network's rank becoming a correspondent in 2022 based in Houston, Texas.[1]
Among her stories she became known for reporting at NBC are the 2019 United States elections,[3] the COVID-19 pandemic,[4][5] the Murder of George Floyd and the protests that followed the ordeal.[6]. She also covered the 2026 Teotihuacan shooting,[7] and the Camp Mystic fatal floods.[8]
Thompson is a member of Teach for America.[9]
