Priya Krishnan is the chief digital and transformation officer at Bright Horizons.[1] She previously founded and was CEO of Founding Years Learning Solutions, the parent company to KLAY Preschools and Daycare, the largest pre-school company in India.[2]
Early life and education
editKrishnan was born in Tamil Nadu, India and grew up all across the country. She got a BE in Computer Science from the University of Mumbai. From 2005 to 2007, Krishnan pursued an MBA from London Business School.
Career
editKrishnan went on to work for Bangalore Labs, Anderson Consulting (now Accenture), and MphasiS UK.[1]
Klay Preschools and Daycare
editWhile studying in London, Krishnan came up with the idea to start a childcare company in India.[2] In 2010, she moved to Bangalore to start KLAY. She initially started the business with the intent of enabling women to return to work after childbirth.[1] She then founded Founding Years Learning Solutions, the parent company to KLAY. Founding Years acquired various early-education companies, inclduing The Little Company in 2013, and We Care in 2015. [3]
Under Krishnan's reign, KLAY became India’s leading chain of Preschools and Daycare centres. It now has serves over 60,000 families and has 160+ centers across three countries.[3]
Krishnan's work at KLAY was recognized through many accolades, including the Economic Times Startup Award for the ‘Woman Ahead’ category.[4]
Bright Horizons Family Solutions
editIn 2020, Krishnan left her role at Founding Years and joined Bright Horizons, one of largest childcare companies in the world. She started as the chief client and experience officer, and then transitioned to her current role as chief digital and transformation officer.[1]
Krishnan plays a pivotal role in shaping the organizational growth and success of Bright Horizons by focusing on key areas such as enrolment, service utilization, and customer experience. Alongside her leadership in marketing and the acquired Sittercity platform, which provides a digital solution for finding in-home care, she manages acquisitions and partnerships. Priya also oversees enterprise product management to enhance digital interactions with families, learners, and clients.[1]
Personal life
editPriya is married to Sanjay Krishnan, the Founder and CEO of Lithium Urban Technologies.[5] They now live in Boston with their two sons.
