Oscar James Knight, professionally known as prodkayo, is an Australian Music Producer born on the 23rd of August 2005 in Brisbane, Australia. Oscar is known for his song collaborations with artists such as Rod Wave, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Kevin Gates, Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo, NoCap and more. At the age of 17, Oscar charted on the Billboard 200 at number 9 after appearing on Rod Wave's EP - 'Jupiter's Diary: 7 Day Theory' on the production of track 8 - 'Just Sing'[1]
Early Life
Oscar Knight grew up predominately in Brisbane, Australia and graduated from St Laurences College in 2023. Oscar grew up around music and started playing guitar at a young age alongside other instruments. Oscar began making beats at the age of 15 after being inspired by a close frond who produced music.
Career
Oscar began his career by experimenting on FL Studio by creating melodies and beats specifically in the rap/hip hop genre. After seeing improvement, he started releasing his beats on platforms such as YouTube and Beatstars. through consistency and networking, he landed his first major placement with Savannah Rapper Quando Rondo on the song 'The Realest', which accumulated over 4 million total streams.[2] This song gave Oscar the opportunity to connect with more artists and producers which las lead to songs with the likes of Rod Wave, Kevin Gates, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Kodak Black, Bobby Shmurda and many more.
Musical Style
Oscar generally makes hip hop/rap type beats but has ventured into the RnB and Pop scenes at times. Like many young producers, his influences include producers Nick Mira and Metro Boomin.
