Purple Waters began when Isaac and Patrick decided to form a band in 2021, sharing a passion for alternative rock and bands such as Queen and Pink Floyd. They recruited Alice Davies as their original drummer, and also had numerous bassists in their lineup, completing the band. Their debut performance took place at the Pontardawe Arts Centre, where they unveiled their first bit of early material, including their breakout single, "You're Not Listening to Me". The catchy track became a fan favorite, helping the band garner attention in Swansea's vibrant and massive music scene.

Lineup Changes and New Additions

In 2023, the band welcomed Sofia as their bassist, further enriching their sound. In 2024, Noa replaced Alice on drums, completing the current lineup. Sofia, in addition to playing bass, also contributes backing vocals, adding more depth to their live performances.

Purple Waters has played several significant gigs, including a headline show at The Bunkhouse in Swansea[2]. They have also reached the 2024 Battle of the Bands Grand Final[3] at the same venue, a testament to their growing popularity.
