Race Night (2021) is a short-film written, directed and produced by Sean Jackson (photographer) examining the culture and community of flat-track motorcycle racing in the American midwest.[1]
The film first appeared in the Tokyo International Short Film Festival, albeit remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Then at the London International Film Festival in May, it was the audience award winner and winner of for best short documentary, before debuting on the big screen in the United States at the Manhattan Film Festival in June 2021.[2]
"Race Night" is an amazingly deep, 22-minute dive into the lives, dreams and fears of participants and their families in a what can only be described as a niche within in a niche sport."[3]
The film continued throughout the festival circuit with other 15 festival inclusions.
A feature study is currently in the works.
