Raghav Khanna is an Indian director, producer, and writer, recognised for his contributions to non-fiction programming and documentary filmmaking. Raghav is the founder of Riverland Entertainment[1][2], a production company making documentaries and non-fiction content for a global audience.

Known For: Raja Rasoi Aur Anya Kahaniyaan, The Elephant Whisperers[3], Modern Masters: S.S. Rajamouli[4][5], Sita's Kitchen.

Early Life and Education

Raghav Khanna was born and raised in Old Delhi, India. He pursued his higher education at Hansraj College, University of Delhi, where he obtained a degree in English Literature. He went on to do a Master’s degree in Television and Film Production from Symbiosis International University.

Career

Raghav Khanna began his career in Mumbai as a director and producer, specialising in documentary and non-fiction programming series produced for The National Geographic Channel, Food Food, and multiple tourism boards.

He produced a variety of food shows, before working as a creative director and writer for the food-history documentary series Raja Rasoi aur Anya Kahaniyaan.

Khanna's early directorial ventures include Janani: The Story of Yamuna and The Royal Enfield Story for Epic Channel; and multiple non-fiction series for international networks including The Discovery Channel, CNA, Zoom, Sony and more.

In 2019, Raghav Khanna joined Netflix Singapore, to lead their documentary productions for the Asia-Pacific region. At Netflix, he produced over fifteen titles, including co-commissioning the Academy Award®-winning short documentary, The Elephant Whisperers. Other significant projects include House of Secrets, Mumbai Mafia: Police vs Underworld, The Hunt for Veerappan, Midnight Asia: Eat Dream Dance, Raincoat Killer, The Trapped 13, and King of Clones.

Prior to his stint at Netflix, Khanna also served as the Executive Producer for Masters of Taste with Gary Mehigan on Fox Life and Mega Icons Season 2 for The National Geographic Channel. He also worked on the Bollywood feature film Padmaavat (2018) as an Executive Producer.

After leaving Netflix he directed Modern Masters: S.S. Rajamouli.[6]

Currently Khanna is working on Tiffin Stories[7] an upcoming documentary food series hosted by British-Indian chef Asma Khan.[8]

Riverland Entertainment

In late 2022, Raghav Khanna founded Riverland Entertainment[9], a premium unscripted production company based in India. Riverland Entertainment focuses on producing and distributing documentary and non-fiction content. Riverland's first project is an untitled sports documentary set in USA and India, currently in production. They announced a documentary food series titled Tiffin Stories, hosted by British-Indian chef Asma Khan.[10]

Raghav Khanna is also an author having written Sita's Kitchen, a coming-of-age novel published by Rupa Publications.
