Draft:Ralph Griffith and Bernie Madoff

Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years for committing the largest financial crime in history. Numerous books were written by authors who never met the man and relied on other sources. Madoff was sent to FCI Butner, North Carolina to serve out his sentence. Ralph Griffith was serving a 14 year sentence for bank robbery and was also sent to FCI Butner. Griffith an aspiring author befriended Madoff and they spent 7 years together in a small sixty man unit. It was quite an experience for both men. Griffith was released in February of 2017, and returned to San Francisco where he released his first book about his experience with Madoff and their friendship in prison together. What Madoff revealed was not what had been reported in the press, or the numerous books written about him. Griffith subsequently wrote three different books about Madoff.[1][2][3][unreliable source]
