Ramchandra Barsha Gharat Ramchandra Barsha Gharat (born March 5, 1963) is an Indian businessman and politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently serving as the Co-head of the Thane Lok Sabha Election campaign, playing a significant role in managing the BJP’s election strategies in Thane district, Maharashtra.
Early Life and Business Career Ramchandra Gharat began his career as a cricketer, participating in the prestigious Time Shield tournament, part of Mumbai's corporate cricket circuit. His early experiences in sports imbued him with a sense of discipline and teamwork, which later influenced his approach to both business and politics.
Gharat's entrepreneurial journey started with a small general store named Gharat Brothers. In 1992, he transitioned into the excavation and earthmoving industry by founding Om Sai Earthmovers, starting with a single tipper truck. Through hard work and dedication, Gharat expanded his business, which today boasts a fleet of 20 tipper trucks and 10 excavators. Under his leadership, Om Sai Earthmovers has become a recognized name in the industry, known for its reliability and operational scale.
Political Career Ramchandra Gharat has been actively involved with the Bharatiya Janata Party for over a decade, holding several key leadership positions within the party.
Ex-District President, BJP Navi Mumbai (2016–2024): As District President of the BJP in Navi Mumbai, Gharat worked to strengthen the party's organizational framework and expand its influence. His initiatives focused on political outreach and community development programs, helping to grow the party’s presence in the region.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Corporator (2015–2020): Gharat was elected as the corporator for Ward No. 66 in Turbhe Village. During his tenure, he concentrated on improving infrastructure and enhancing civic amenities in the area.
NMMC BJP Group Leader: Gharat also served as the BJP’s Group Leader in the NMMC, representing the party's policies and interests within the municipal corporation, and working closely on local governance issues.
Current Role Currently, Ramchandra Gharat serves as the Co-head of the Thane Lok Sabha Election Campaign for the BJP. In this capacity, he oversees the party's electoral strategies and activities in the Thane district, playing a key role in preparing for upcoming elections.
