Robert Milton Lubin (born October 27, 1994) is the founder of the fashion start-up IN-HOUSE[1] and the 2024 Democratic nominee for Congress in New York's 2nd Congressional District. Before founding IN-HOUSE, Lubin worked as a partnerships executive for prominent European soccer clubs, FC Barcelona and AS Roma[1]. He is fluent in both Spanish and Italian.

Early Life and Education

edit

Rob Lubin was born in New York City to an Italian mother, Flaminia, who immigrated to the United States. Raised in Manhattan, Lubin grew up speaking Spanish and Italian at home. He attended the prestigious Allen-Stevenson School and Riverdale Country Day School, where he was active in sports, wrestling, and playing soccer. Lubin graduated in 2017 from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., earning a degree in Sports Management[2].

Career

edit

During his undergraduate years, Lubin gained experience interning with two NFL teams, the Washington Commanders and the New York Jets[1]. Following his graduation, he secured a position with AS Roma[1], a leading soccer team in Italy's Serie A, where he worked for two years. His performance there led to his recruitment by FC Barcelona, where he was appointed to oversee partnerships in North and Latin America[1]. Lubin made history as one of FC Barcelona's youngest executives[2]. In 2020, Lubin left the soccer industry to pursue entrepreneurship, founding the fashion start-up IN-HOUSE[3]. The company completed three rounds of venture-backed funding under his leadership. Lubin stepped down from his role at IN-HOUSE in 2023 to focus on his political career.

Congressional Campaign

edit

In 2023, Rob Lubin announced his candidacy for New York's 2nd Congressional District, running as a Democrat. After moving to Lindenhurst, New York, with his fiancé following their engagement in 2022, Lubin was motivated to run for Congress due to personal challenges, including high housing costs and a rare eye condition for which his insurance refused coverage[2]. The district, which spans from East Massapequa to Mastic Beach, was redrawn in 2023 and is considered competitive, having voted for Donald Trump by a 2.4-point margin in the 2020 presidential election. The Cook Political Report rates the district as R+3[4], indicating a slight Republican advantage.
