Sahil Adeem[a] (born 10 October 1984) is a Pakistani psychologist and religious commentator, known for his controversial speeches and unorthodox interpretation of religious scriptures. He is son of poet Adeem Hashmi.[1][2]
Early life and education
editSahil Adeem was born to a Pakistani Punjabi family, his father Adeem Hashmi was a renowned poet. Sahil is a psychologist who graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.[3]
Career
editHe was the head psychologist for the youth squad of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In Pakistan, he has been working for Pakistani cricketers with the Pakistan Cricket Board since 2017. Sahil Adeem was also Zong's chief strategy officer for 10 years. He has also been coaching CEOs on business strategy in Denmark, Canada and Pakistan for the past 15 years.[3]
Controversies
editIn October 2022, he was banned from speaking at public universities. The ban was imposed by the government because of the content of his speeches.[4] He was asked to apologize for lifting the ban and resume speaking at public universities, but he refused.[5]
He was also involved in a controversial and detailed discussion on the Dajjal and Gog Magog on the Nadir Ali podcast.[6]
Public perception
editSahil is known for his public speaking and lectures on Islam.[7][8] His speeches and debates have sparked debate and have been seen as indicative of certain issues.[9]
In January 2023, he has also been involved in Al Khidmat Foundation's volunteer program.[10]
