Moritz was announced as producer, with Miramax's parent Paramount Pictures distributing.[1] In October 2024, it was announced that the Wayans brothers Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory would return as screenwriters and producers for the reboot, having co-written the first two films and reuniting for the first time in 18 years. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in 2025.[2] Both Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who starred in the first four films in the franchise, have expressed interest in reprising their respective roles.[3][4]
