Scoutmaster Gary is a legendary figure in the Central Kentucky scouting community, no one is quite sure if the stories are true, but they are retold over and over in the name of entertainment and education. Many of the stories are told as scoutmaster minutes however, it’s not unusual at campfires to have stories that may last for hours about the legendary scoutmaster. In one story scoutmaster Gary. was attacked by a grizzly bear, while hiking in the west, and his leg received massive trauma, and he used a rattlesnake to make a tourniquet, stopping the bleeding and saving his life. Perhaps his most famous story involves him witnessing a wolf attacking a group of pigs. Which resulted in the wolf, being injured, and the pigs escaping without harm. Scoutmaster, Gary stories are always told as true without exaggeration although some may question the stories no one has ever proven that they are not true. His fan club is extremely loyal and growing in numbers. Some scouting organizations have even started scoutmaster Gary fan clubs, where they gather together to celebrate the legendary figure and keep his stories alive.
