Sheeba Ameer[1][2] is an Indian social activist and writer from Thrissur, Kerala, India. In 2000, Ameer founded SOLACE[3], a non-profit organization providing support to children[4] with cancer[5] and their families in Kerala. SOLACE offers financial assistance, emotional support[6][7] , and practical help. The organization also works to raise awareness about cancer, and advocate for better cancer care in Kerala.

Awards and recognition

Ameer received the CNN IBN Real Heroes Award in 2011. "WATCH: Sheeba Ameer Receiving CNN-IBN Real Heros Award". She was also awarded the Abhijith Foundation Award in 2006 for Best Social Worker in Kerala, and the Vanita Ratnam Award[8] in 2017.
