Shimanaga Ena (シマナガエナ).[1][2] is a Japanese virtual YouTuber. She began posting videos as an independent creator in November 2019. Her YouTube activity consists primarily of live streaming herself singing karaoke, playing video games, and talking to her fans. She is particularly well-known among fans for her ethereal and beautiful singing voice[1]. As of March 2024, she has 16,900 subscribers and 665,000 views on YouTube. She is a virtual YouTuber based on Shimaenaga (シマエナガ), which refers to the Japanese name for the subspecies oflong-tailed tit from Hokkaido, Japan.
Career
editShimanaga Ena created her YouTube channel on 8 September 2019[3] and she posted her first video to YouTube on 21 November 2019,debuting as a virtual YouTuber.[4].
She released first original song, "Christmas carol", on 21 December 2019,[5] and her second "Sakura saku koro"[i] (桜咲く頃), on 12 April 2020[6]. Her third original song, "Inori"[ii] (祈り~inori~) , followed on 3 May 2020[7]. Additionally, she released her first cover song, "Venom" (ベノム), on 21 February 2020[8][1], all as YouTube music videos.
On 15 July 2020, Shimanaga Ena started crowdfunding[9], and on November 21 of the same year, she released her first original single, "Kagirohi."[iii] (かぎろひ。)[10] to celebrate the first anniversary of her activity.
In January 2021, Shimanaga Ena started live streaming on bilibili.
On 21 May 2021,she celebrated a year and a half since her debut, and from June 21 of the same year, she collaborated with an online claw machine game called "Dokodemo catcher (どこでもキャッチャー)" to develop a number of goods[11].
To celebrate the second anniversary of her activity, she started her second crowdfunding campaign on on 15 July 2021[12], followed by the debut of her 3D model on 22 January 2022[13].
On 19 August 2021, She released her fifth original song "Melon Cream Sodal"[14] and presented a new Live2D model wearing a ”Chinese costume” during her birthday broadcast.[15].
On 19 September 2021,she was one of the vocalists of "Dekkai Uchū ni Ai ga Aru"[iv] (でっかい宇宙に愛がある), a song included in “Morning Musume”'s “The Peace!” as part of“Tsunku's Rebuild Project“[16][17].
On 21 November 2022, she released her sixth original song"Futari."[v] (ふたり。) [18] during her third anniversary broadcast[19],along with the first digital release of her music[20].
On 19 August 19 2023, she presented a new Live2D model wearing a "Cyber costume"during a birthday celebration broadcast[21].
During her fourth anniversary broadcast on 21 November 2023,[22],she announced her fourth anniversary original song, "Dissonance" (ディソナンス), and began the digital release of the song[23]
On Christmas Day, 24 December 2023, Shimanaga Ena appeared in the first 3D live concert, "Kira-Kira Xmas Live at MAWATA SPICA LAND in cluster DAY2"[24]
On 7 April 2024, she made her first live performance, "Voltage Light"[25], at Shinjyuku motion[26],Tokyo

editShimanaga Ena's YouTube activity primarily consists of live streaming herself singing on Thursdays at 18:00 JST (UTC+0900), talking to her fans, and contributing cover songs and original music.[1].In addition to YouTube, she has been broadcasting live games such as Apex Legends and VALORANT on Twitch, and cooking and handiwork videos on bilibili[27].She is also an accomplished illustrator and Live2D modeler and accepts illustration commissions through the commission service "Skeb."[1]
