Sil Peruyera Brook (born August 27, 1968) is an American producer, writer, and businesswoman. Brook is known for her documentaries and screenplays, Winds of Transition and Moments in Time. [1][2]
Early life
editBrook was born on August 27, 1968, in Perugia, Umbria, Italy. She was raised by her father, Juan Peruyera, and her grandmother, Josefina Peruyera, along with her sister, Concha Peruyera. She is estranged from her mother. Her family relocated to the UK after her birth, where she later attended Ashcombe Primary in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England When she was thirteen, her family moved to Toronto, Canada. In 1986, Brook went to the University of South Carolina for fine arts. She graduated in December, 1989.
Career
editBrook co-founded Tierra Productions LLC in 1994 with her acquaintances and became its CEO. [1][2]
She contributed to various documentaries for the BBC through Tierra Production LLC, including Weapons That Made Britain, Pompeii: The Last Day, Pompeii: The Mystery of People Frozen in Time, America's Planned War on Britain:Revealed, and others. [3]
She wrote Winds of Transition in 2021 and received over 20 awards and selections, including best screenplay awards at the United States Film Festival, Bridge Festival, Vancouver, BC, Crown Wood International Film Festival, WRPN Women's International Film Festival, and LA Independent Women Film.
The screenplay is in pre-production. As of 2022, Brook is the CEO of Tierra Productions LLC and is developing another screenplay, Moments in Time.
