Simone Sozza (born 19 August 1987) is an Italian football referee who officiates in Serie A. He has been a FIFA referee since 2023, and is ranked as a UEFA category referee.[1]

Officiating career

Sozza belongs to the Seregno referee section (AIA Seregno). He made his debut in Serie B in 2019 and was promoted to officiate top-flight Serie A matches in January 2020. Known for his calm management style and high physical standards, he quickly established himself as one of the elite referees in Italian football.[2]

Sozza was born in Seregno, in the Lombardy region of Italy. Outside of top-flight match officiating, he works in business administration and actively participates in training sessions and seminars organized by the AIA (*Associazione Italiana Arbitri*).
