Simone Sozza (born 19 August 1987) is an Italian football referee who officiates in Serie A. He has been a FIFA referee since 2023, and is ranked as a UEFA category referee.[1]
Officiating career
[edit]Sozza belongs to the Seregno referee section (AIA Seregno). He made his debut in Serie B in 2019 and was promoted to officiate top-flight Serie A matches in January 2020. Known for his calm management style and high physical standards, he quickly established himself as one of the elite referees in Italian football.[2]

[edit]- Serie A Derby & Big Matches: Sozza gained widespread recognition in Italy for handling high-pressure fixtures, including the Derby della Madonnina (Inter Milan vs AC Milan) and major clashes involving Juventus, AS Roma, and SSC Napoli.
- FIFA & UEFA Listing: In January 2023, he was officially appointed to the FIFA International Referees List.
