“SIR” is a 2024 Indian Tamil language period film, directed by Bose Venkat and produced by S. Sirajudeen and Nilo Siraj in the banner of SSS pictures. it stars Vimal, Chaya Devi Kannan, Paruthiveeran Saravanan Rama rajendar, Saravana Sakthi,Jayabalan,Vijaymurugan and Siraj with music composed by Sidhu Kumar. it was initial titled as MA.PO.SI, But  it was later renamed  to “SIR”.The movie shooting was happened in Aranthangi.

Plot

Before the independence of 1950, the village of Mangollai was uneducated, Annadurai Vathiyar teaches education to the poor people, Colochi Sami and his high-class people who do not like the poor people getting educated, beats Annadurai on the head and cause mental illness, so Annadurai's son Arasan Vaathiyar comes to the village for education...

In the year 1960, in Mangollai village Annadurai teacher, is chained by the people of this town and they call him “Mental vaathiyar”. Listening to this Annadurai’s grandson Sivangaanam couldn’t  bear this as it feel like beetles buzzing inside his ears and he falls unconscious

In tha year 1980, in Mangollai village Arasan teacher who has worked in that school for many years getting retired now. In the desire that his son should continue in his footsteps for the welfare of the village, he make a transfer for his son and informs him who is currently working as a school teacher in a big town, sivangaanam is innocent and he is afraid of his strict father. Sivangaanam has a good friendship with Saamikannu and other friends, but his father Arasan vaathiyaar doesn’t like this friendship.

Sivangaanam starts working and behaves irresponsibly in his work at school. he falls in love with a teacher named Vallinaayaki who joins the school.. During this, the Saamikannu family orchestrates a plan using the panchayat head to demolish the school building. So, the panchayat head comes and fabricates a lie that the school building has become old and it should be taken down. Hearing this Arasan Vaathiyaar protested against this because it was the first school that his father built on his own. During a spiritual practice, Periyasaami (Colochami's son)  walks angrily, walks by the village, and goes in front of the school building, he goes shouting towards the old building, hits the wall, and falls down. While this happens, ArasanVaathiyar gets hurt while farming on his land and he falls unconscious. the village people start calling Arasan Vaathiyar mentally ill. Sivangaanam who came to terms with village people calling his grand father mentally ill is now shocked when his father is also called the same. after Arasan Vaathiyar becomes mentally ill, people started blaming him as the cause for all the troubles in the village. Meanwhile, village people beats Arasan Vaathiyar and he dies eventually,  After his father's demise, Sivangaanam takes control of the school. and he gets engaged to Vallinaayaki as well. Saamikannu's family creates an incident where the village people were made to believe that Sivagnaanam is wounded and becomes mentally ill, like Arasan Vaathiyaar(father) and AnnaDurai(grandfather). Now, Sivagnaanam has to prove his mental stability. Because of this, his fiancee Vallinaayaki leaves him, Sivangaanam is boycotted in school and the children are scared of him. In the mean time, the panchayat head plans to demolish the old building.  All these incidents are organized by his friend Saamikannu. during their childhood, Sivangaanam's grandfather (Annadurai) and Saamikannu's grandfather (Colochi) were fighting and Saamikannu's grandfather made apromise smiling to him that the school shouldn't be there at any cost.

After years of waiting Saamikannu gets the chance of that spiritual walk practice and he walks towards the school to demolish it. SIR is a story about, knowing all, how Sivanyaanam handles Saamikannu, how he manages his love, and how he proves to the village people that he is mentally stable.
