Reception
[edit]Touch, Tap, Play gave the game 3/5 stars, writing that its gameplay was novel but not amazing and calling its story a standard sci-fi RPG.[2]
ClutchPoints gave the game a rating of 8/10, saying that the game featured good gameplay with a story full of gray areas.[3] Clutchpoints further wrote that it follows a trend of gun-based gacha games having sad stories.[3]
GamingCypher also rated the game 8/10, praising the gameplay and comparing it to Tom Clancy's The Division, while noting that some of the game's missions could be longer.[4]
Controversy
[edit]A collaboration between Snowbreak and China Post was met with significant controversy, as many in China felt that it was innappropriate for China Post, the official state-owned postal service of China, to collaborate with a game with erotic content. The game closed for an indefinite hiatus on March 2, 2026.[5][6] It reopened two months later with some skins and designs changed, on May 8, 2026.[7]
Criticism
[edit]Snowbreak has been criticized for being targeted at the "male gaze", and one anonymous staffer called this criticism a "distraction" as reported by NicheGamer.[8]
