StarShy is an online small artist girl group under Unikue Records. The group consists of five members: Emi, Malveia, May, Yue and Mina. The group initially had the member Seoul, but she left soon after their debut for personal reasons and got replaced by Yue.
StarShy debuted with their EP "I Like You" on April 3, 2024. Prior to their debut EP, they released their pre-release single "Sigh" on February 1, 2024. The group is currently faceless and only one of the members, Emi, has made her face public. They use Everskies characters to represent each member during promotions and they use these avatars for social media content.
History
edit2023–2024: Pre-debut activities and formation
editThe debut line-up had already been part of the K-pop cover artist community for their respective amount of time before the group had been formed. Before the group was introduced to the public, Lila had been chosen for the line-up but she never debuted due to inactivity. The first member who debuted that had been chosen for the group was Malveia, as a main vocalist. She was accepted into the group after she passed the auditions that were held for StarShy. The second main vocalist was then chosen for the line-up, Emi. Emi was scouted by the owners of Unikue Records after they had heard her vocal abilities. Mina and May were also scouted by the owners of Unikue Records in a similar fashion as Emi and that had thought to had been the final line-up. Once Lila went inactive, Seoul joined the group and debuted with StarShy.
2024–present: Introduction, debut and Seoul's departure
editThe members were first introduced on Tiktok with individual covers. They then began the promotions of "Sigh" and released it at the very start of February 2024. StarShy's introduction to public quickly started a stir in the Tiktok small artist community with their talented members and interesting concept. Soon after they officially debuted with their EP, Seoul announced her departure from the group and Yue was added as a member to fill in the empty spot in the line-up.
