Stephen Annor Gyamfi (born 19 May 2003) is a Ghanaian soccer player who plays as a forward for MLS side Houston Dynamo.[1]
Early life
editFrom Accra, Ghana, he joined the Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, when he was 16 years-old.[2]
Career
editVirginia Cavaliers
editHe was recruited to play college soccer for the University of Virginia in July 2023.[3] As a freshman in 2023, Annor Gyamfi scored 10 goals in 19 games, becoming the first Virginia player to reach double digits in a season since Daryl Dike in 2019.[4] In his single season with the Virginia Cavaliers he was named ACC Freshman of the Year and won First-Team All-ACC honours.[5]
Houston
editAhead of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, he signed a Generation Adidas contract with the league.[6] In the SuperDraft, he was selected in the first round by Houston Dynamo.[7]
He scored his first goal for Houston Dynamo 2 in the MLS Next Pro League against Los Angeles FC 2 on 24 March 2024.[8]
