StormStock is a collection of extreme weather and climate stock footage founded by filmmaker and storm chaser Martin Lisius in 1993.[1][2] The brand is owned by Prairie Pictures, Inc. of Arlington, Texas. Content produced by StormStock is licensed for use in TV shows, films, commercials, and other video productions. Topics include footage of hurricanes,[3] tornadoes,[4] lightning, climate change,[5] supercell thunderstorms, extreme weather,[6] and natural disasters. The collection focuses on producing content on high-resolution formats including 4K, 8K and 16K video[7]. Lisius tracks and films storms and is the primary contributor to the StormStock collection.[8][9]
