• Comment: Very little of this article is about the company itself; most of it discusses reviews of the company's games, or announcements of its projects. Announcements do not establish notability. The awards mentioned do not yet have articles about the awards themselves(like Academy Award or Nobel Peace Prize) so those shouldn't be mentioned. 331dot (talk) 13:38, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

History

edit

Stormind Games was founded in 2016 by Antonio Cannata (CEO) and Federico Laudani (Art Director).[1]. Its headquarters are in Acireale, Catania, Sicily.

Its first title, Remothered: Tormented Fathers, was launched digitally in 2018 on PC, PS4, and Xbox, and in 2019 on Nintendo Switch. In 2019, in partnership with Soedesco, the game also launched in physical format. In March 2020, the game became available in Asia, published by the Japanese publishing label 3goo.

The game received positive reviews according to the review aggregation websites GameRankings and Metacritic. It was praised for its atmosphere, gameplay and storytelling.[2][3] On 22 July 2018, three days prior to Remothered: Tormented Fathers console release, Keiichiro Toyama, creator of the Silent Hill series and Forbidden Siren, expressed his admiration for Remothered.[4][5][6]

Remothered: Broken Porcelain launched worldwide, digitally and physically for all platforms, on October 13, 2020, in partnership with publisher Modus Games, a division of Maximum Games. Both games contributed to "established [Stormind] as a distinctive voice in survival horror", told Gamesindustry.biz[7].

In January 2021, Stormind Games announced the action adventure game Batora: Lost Haven. Published by Team17, it was released on October 20th 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X[8]. The game will also be released on Nintendo Switch in the future. The game won the WN Dev Contest for Unreal Engine Developers[9] and the DevGAMM[10] awards before launch. Batora: Lost Haven has seen the collaboration of a good number of established video game talents, including the Writers Guild of America Awards 2018 winner Anne Toole (Horizon: Zero Dawn and The Witcher), the concept artist Borislav Mitkov (Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia) and the composer Ron Fish (God of War and Batman: Arkham series)[11].

In 17th June 2024 was announced that Stormind Games[12] was chosen for the development of A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead[13][14], published by Saber Interactive. Announced for a 2024 release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S[15], the game is based on the A Quiet Place film series and features a new original story in the Paramount Pictures' movie franchise. In July was released the first story trailer[16] speaking about Alex Taylor, the main character of the game.[17][18][19]
