TF Value-Mart is a Malaysian retail company that operates a chain of hypermarkets in Malaysia, and is currently headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. It currently operates 41 stores, primarily in northern Malaysia.
History
editThe company began operations in 1998 when the Low family purchased two abandoned theatres in Bentong, converting one into a warehouse, with the other being converted into the first TF Value-Mart location.[1]
Throughout the 2000's, the company began expanding within Pahang, and outside of it, with TF Value-Mart opening it's first store outside in Tanjung Malim, Perak, in 2005.
In 2016, the Low family sold the company to Singapore-based private equity firm KV Asia Capital Pte Ltd. In December 2020, following a management buyout financed by British investment firm Intermediate Capital Group, the company now owns a stake in the company through Asia Fund IV.[1]
