Thavamai Thavamirundhu (transl. With much penance) is a 2022-2023 Indian Tamil-language family television series starring Sivakumar, Anitha Nair, Pandi Kamal, Britto Mano and Sandhya Ramachandran. It aired on Zee Tamil from 18 April 2022 to 8 October 2023,[1] on Monday to Saturday and ended with 474 episodes.[2] It is also available for streaming on ZEE5.
The series writer by Kiruthika, directed by Prathap Mani and produced by Singaravelan under the banner of SS Group, the show revolves around journey of an old married couple Markandeyan and his wife Seetha.[3]

Production
editCasting
editPasanga film fame actor Sivakumar was cast as Markandeyan in the male lead role. Anitha Nair plays the male lead alongside him.[4] In late 2022, actor Jai Akash was cast as ACP M. Abhimanyu in special appearances.[9]
The show took its first leap on 31 July 2024 with Sandhya Ramachandran[7] being replaced by Sivanyaa[5] as Malar and Britto Mano was replaced by Sudharsanam as Pandi.[6][10]
