The ballad was written by Alexander Cormack during one of Slim Dusty's Australian tours in the early 70s or late 60s. Officially released in June 1971.[2] And has been performed live many times since.[3][4][5][6]

Content

Written about a Queensland town called Camooweal. The songs mentions a love lost in the town and that the teller won't be young on their return but reminisces what was there.[7]
