Submission declined on 27 March 2024 by Chaotic Enby (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. Declined by Chaotic Enby 5 months ago. |

The Claws are a rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California. The band's origins start with Cherry/Martin, the rock n roll acoustic duo formed by Gary Martin and Chad Cherry in 2017. The Claws became official when Terry Love (bass guitar) and Nate Arling (drums) joined forces and recorded the 'The Claws EP'. The EP was recorded in Joshua Tree, CA, and featured the single and video for 'High Wire To Nowhere'.
The band recruited Johnny Haro (drums) in 2018 and began the recording process on their debut full-length LP, 'No Connection'. 'No Connection' was recorded in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, and was released in January of 2020 on vinyl LP and CD, featuring the singles and videos 'No Connection' and 'Stumbling Around'.
The band added John Dzubak (guitar) to the live lineup around this time. The band received high praise from publications domestically and internationally for the 10 track debut LP, including positive reviews in Classic Rock magazine (UK), RPM Online (U.K.) RPM Online review, and Sleazeroxx magazine (Canada)Sleazeroxx interview with The Claws.
Lineup changes were in store previous to the start of album #2. With the 2020 addition of Tony Pacheco (drums) and 2021 addition of Mike Gavigan (guitars), the classic 5 piece lineup of The Claws was born.
2021 saw the release of the 10 song LP 'Stars And Broken Glass' (available on vinyl LP and CD), featuring the single and video for 'Strange Rumblings', along with the accompanying 4-track EP 'Hazy Days' (available on CD), featuring the single "Ride". The band embarked on a short US tour in 2022 in support of the newest releases, and once again hit the road in 2023 across the northeastern USA.
The Claws played their final show with an epic 23 song set at Ireland's 32 in Van Nuys, California in July of 2023. Material for album #3 has been written, but there are no plans scheduled for studio work. The band remains on indefinite hiatus.
