The Foundation Stage Forum Ltd. (the FSF) is an online community for early years professionals, where users can engage in conversations, offer and receive advice and support, and make connections. The FSF was launched on 14th February 2003 by founders Stephen Edwards and Dr Helen Edwards. It is headquartered in Lewes, East Sussex.
It has over 50,000 members and 470,000 posts[1].
In 2005, to support and scale the community, the LA Membership Scheme was introduced.
The LA Membership Scheme
editThe FSF operates a scheme whereby the early years teams working in Local Authorities can purchase membership for all the EYFS providers in their area for a single annual payment[2]. This scheme includes a private forum area only visible to their registered members, and a bulk email function to allow quick and easy communication with them.
Free Forum Membership
editTo celebrate the 20th anniversary of the FSF, all forum memberships became free for all users[3]. Previously, an annual subscription cost £24 inc. VAT.
The Foundation Stage Forum Podcast
editThe FSF publishes a bi-monthly podcast on a wide variety of topics within the areas of early years education and technology[4].
Products
editIn October 2012, the Foundation Stage Forum Ltd launched Tapestry Online Learning Journal, which has since been rebranded to Tapestry Childhood Education Platform.
