The Kingsters were a Pop Rock Band formed in 2021 by Shahaan Zaheer and Raiyan Sheikh. They were initially named "The Boston Boys" and swiftly joined by brother Shahmir Zaheer and Aman Khalid. They have released a total of 3 singles and 1 EP, starting with Industry Baby in March 2022.The band most prominently featured Shahaan Zaheer on Guitar, Raiyan Sheikh on Lead Vocals, and Shahmir 'Shimzy' Zaheer on Vocals and Drums, as well as Aman Khalid on trombone and vocals.[1] In later iterations, the band would split unofficially in two; leaving Shahaan and Raiyan officially and Aman and Shahmir into their own fragment unofficially. In the official piece, Shahaan would become the lead singer & guitarist, Ayaan Javaid a singer, and Shimzy a drummer. In varying combinations, they performed live, at least once as The Justin Bieber Juniors.
The band was once notable at Shahaan's school, bringing him notoriety with the release of 'Industry Baby'. Many of their hits include covers of popular songs, like Bruno Mars' "Talking to the Moon," and Harry Styles' "As It Was," which both capture the band's developing sound. A song, titled "All I Need," was written by Zaheer & Sheikh, but never completely recorded. Much of the band's material was deemed by label Burstophone Records as unsuitable for release.
History
editThe band was founded on the night of July 16th, 2021, as the Boston Boys, with three principal member (Shahaan, Shahmir, Raiyan) present. Aman Khaild, a close friend of all, would join the day after. Raiyan and Shahaan were the principal duo, with Shahmir and Aman known for their wildness as a duo.
The band did not record anything cumulatively until March 13th, 2022, the date of Industry Baby's recording. Two songs were recorded, both appearing on the single. This was prosperous as it allowed for the band to become well known, and popular after Shahaan's duet, the Y-Axis Blues, soon after further displaying his guitar playing.[2]
By the summertime, the band had performed at least once and had released an EP.[3] However, tensions began to rise, leading to Aman being kicked out of the band; somehow Ayaan got in on his recommendation still, replacing him. The band would release two more singles before collapsing. This was caused by Shahaan and Raiyan, the core duo, arguing over recording times and failing to create a Valentine's Day single. Thus, the band began to split.
The band would fizzle out and reform a few times, leading to such performances such as that of the Justin Bieber Juniors, and later as various other configurations. As of 2024, Shahaan plays instruments with Shimzy drumming and Ayaan singing. However, Shahaan would also begin persuing rock music under the pseudonym John Sears, separating himself from the band.
