On May 22, 2024, according to a Staff Memorandum written by the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Republican Staff, Dr. David Morens, Senior Advisor to National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases former-Director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, was alleged to have engaged in illegal activity and wrongdoing in violation of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). [1]
Dr. Morens uses Gmail accounts to subvert the reach of FOIA. In an email, dated Feb. 25, 2001, Morens made reference to the ways government officials subvert FOIA, by stating: "[ ] I learned the tricks last year from an old friend, Marg Moore, who heads our FOIA office and also hates FOIA."
