The Painters (Korean: 페인터즈, Chinese: 涂鸦秀, Japanese: ペインターズ) is a South Korean non-verbal performance created by Kyu Jeong[1] & Jenny Shin. It is produced by Penatonic (Korean: (주) 펜타토닉), a performing arts company founded by the same duo.

Features

edit

The Painters is a 75-minute live painting show that incorporates elements of comedy, dance, and audience participation. Four performers create about 10 artworks in real time using various techniques such as light carving, action painting, light drawing, and marbling art[2].

The performance features a blend of modern urban dace music and popular soundtracks with traditional Korean art forms. The audience may see the creation of an oriental white tiger painting and a drawing of the Gwanghwamun gate, accompanied by traditional Korean Samul nori music and Haegum melodies.

The Painters is interactive, with the performers engaging the audience on stage and in their seats through gestures, live painting, and even small gifts distributed during the show.
