The Sword in the Stone is an upcoming live-action musical remake of the 1963 animated film of the same name. It is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo,Bryan Cogman is penning the script, with Brigham Taylor as producer.[1]
On February 8, 2018, it was confirmed that the film will not be released in cinemas, but on Disney+.[2]
On March 7, 2024, Fresnadillo revealed that the film was on hold by Disney.[3]

editIn July 2015, it was announced that a live-action remake of The Sword in the Stone was in the works, with Brigham Taylor as producer and Bryan Cogman as writer. In January 2018, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo joined the film as director.[4]
Filming
editFilming will take place in Siena, Italy.[5]
Release
