- Comment: Citations do not belong in headings. An infobox would be helpful. His awards seem to come exclusively from one website/organization, which seems to detract from his notability. Snowman304|talk 04:42, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

Biography
editThierry Deleruyelle received his musical training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he studied Percussion, Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue[1]. He is particularly known for his works for concert band and brass band for which he writes on commission. Since 2007, Thierry Deleruyelle's music is published and distributed exclusively by De Haske Publications[2], part of Hal Leonard Corporation (USA), the world's leading publisher[3].
In 2015, Thierry Deleruyelle was commissioned to compose the European Brass Band Championships set piece[4][5] (Fraternity), his first major work written for Brass Band[6]. The work was a worldwide success from the outset, and has been one of the most frequently performed ever since[7]. This powerful and deeply moving piece has captivated worldwide audiences, earning widespread admiration from performers, listeners, and critics alike[8]. Thierry Deleruyelle became the first French composer to compose the set piece for the European competition[9], as well as the set piece for the British Open[10]. In 2022, another work by Thierry Deleruyelle, Sand and Stars, will follow suit, becoming the test-piece for the Dutch national brass band championships and the British Open 2023.[11] The work has been praised for its evocative portrayal of human resilience, with critics highlighting its richly textured composition and emotional depth, akin to a cinematic narrative that captures both struggle and triumph.[12]
Thierry Deleruyelle was awarded by an international jury "Best composer of the Year" in 2016[13], 2017[14] and 2023[15] at the 4barsrest awards establishing himself as one of the foremost composers shaping the contemporary brass band movement[16].
On July 14, 2023, Majesty composed for concert band by Thierry Deleruyelle has been performed at the opening of the national military parade on the Champs-Elysées in front of French President Emmanuel Macron[17] by an international military band[18].
Thierry Deleruyelle's works are performed worldwide and enjoy international recognition.
