Draft:Todea minutacaulis

Todea minutacaulis is a species of osmundaceous fern described from a single calcium carbonate concretion from the Apple Bay locality of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

This species of Todea earns the name minutacaulis for the diminutive size of the rhizome. This specimen represented the first anatomically preserved fern sporeling found in the fossil record. This specimen allowed for the description of several developmental changes that occur during the sporeling stage of fern development.
