"Truthful Parson Brown" is a popular American song with music and lyrics by Willard Robison. The song was published in 1928.

It was featured in the 1929 musical film The Broadway Melody performed by the Biltmore Quartet.^[1]

Meanings

One set of notes for radio announcers in the late 1920s "describes [the song] as "dusky.""^[2]

Notable Recordings

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band recorded a version released in 2016 as part of a 50 year anniversary disc.^[3]
