UFANDAO is a decentralized crowdfunding platform launched in 2022, with its headquarters located in Tallinn, Estonia.[5] The platform is accessible to users worldwide.[6][7]

History

edit

UFANDAO was founded in February 2022, by Estonian entrepreneur Oleg Rodionov.[8]

The platform was created to enable users to raise funds for any type of dream, ranging from personal items to startups and innovative ideas.[9] According to Rodionov, "Our mission is to empower people to unite around the needs that matter and fulfill their wishes. The platform offers each subscriber a wide range of opportunities to fulfill big or little dreams."[10]

In November 2023, UFANDAO participated in Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, under the "Social Platforms" category.[11][12][13]

Key Features

edit

The platform operates using a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) model, which eliminates the need for intermediaries between donors and fundraisers.[14] All transactions are conducted directly between users, allowing participants to run their campaigns entirely independently from start to finish.[15]

Donations on UFANDAO are made in real-time.[16] The platform avoids holding or accumulating donations and does not charge any fees for fundraising or transactions.[17] The minimum donation amount is 25 euro.[18]

UFANDAO offers users two main options: creating a personal fundraising campaign or voluntarily donating to any existing campaign on the platform. Users can start a campaign for any purpose by outlining its goal and specifying the target fundraising amount. Each campaign must be illustrated and appropriately categorized. While campaigns on UFANDAO have no time limits, there is a funding cap of 5,000 euro per campaign.[16][19]

The platform is built on the principle of mutual assistance, or a "win-win" model. To initiate a fundraising campaign, users must specify their preferred donation receipt method and make a minimum contribution to any campaign of their choice on the platform.[20]

Available donation receipt methods include bank transfers, card-to-card transfers, e-wallets (such as PayPal, Payoneer, Wise, etc.), and cryptocurrency.[14][16]

UFANDAO provides 24/7 support in six languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Russian.[21]
