UV Creations is an Indian film production company and distribution company known for its works in Telugu cinema. It is considered one of the most successful production houses in South Indian cinema. Established by V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati and Vikram Reddy in 2013, The production house mainly produces and distributes Telugu films.[3][4][5]
Production
editBeginning (2013-2015)
editThe company's first production was Mirchi starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sathyaraj and Sampath Raj and directed by Koratala Siva, in his debut, while the music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad.[6] The film had a ₹30 crore budget and collected ₹80 crore at the worldwide box office. It also emerged as one of the 2013's highest grossing Telugu films.[7]
Their second production was Run Raja Run starring Sharwanand, Seerat Kapoor and Adivi Sesh and directed by debutant Sujeeth, and the music was composed by Ghibran.[8]
In 2015, the company produced 2 movies. Jil starring Gopichand, Raashii Khanna and Kabir Duhan Singh in lead roles, was directed by Radha Krishna Kumar. Ghibran composed the music and Sakthi Saravanan.[9] This was followed by Bhale Bhale Magadivoy starring Nani, Lavanya Tripathi and Murali Sharma and directed by Maruthi.[10]
Further success (2016-2022)
editIn 2016, they produced Express Raja starring Sharwanand and Surbhi was directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. Their next project was Mahanubhavudu starring Sharwanand, Mehreen Pirzada and directed by Maruthi.[11]
In 2018, the company produced 3 movies. Bhaagamathie starring Anushka Shetty in lead role was directed by G. Ashok. Their second venture was Happy Wedding (2018 film) starring Niharika Konidela, Sumanth Ashwin in lead roles, and directed by Lakshman Karya.[12]
In 2019 the company produced 2 films. It first released Saaho starring Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor and directed by Sujeeth. Their final release of the year was Prati Roju Pandage directed by Maruthi.[13]
In 2022, both Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pakka Commercial starring Gopichand were released. Radhe Shyam became the second highest-grossing Telugu film of the year and grossed ₹165 crore (US$20 million), the film was not commercially successful and was a box-office disappointment.[14] Pakka Commercial on the other hand became an "average."
Upcoming projects
editThey announced Vishwambhara starring Chiranjeevi, Trisha and Surbhi in lead roles, which willl be directed by Mallidi Vassishta and have music composed by M. M. Keeravani. Chota K. Naidu handled the cinematography. The film is expected to theatrically release on 10 January 2025.[15][16]
There are two other projects in development; Kanguva starring Suriya and directed by Siva. Devi Sri Prasad composed the score,[17] and #Sharwa36.[18]
