Valerie Anne Sackey (née Valerie Anne Lindoe; 1935- 31St December 2023) was a Ghanaian former director of the castle information Bureau in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) administration from 1982 to 1992 and Public Affairs Secretariat during the office of the late former president Jerry John Rawlings from 1992 to 2001.[1][2][3]
Early life
editShe was born in 1935 in Accrington in the United States. Her parents are Valentine Lindoe and Nancy Lindoe.[1]
Career
editValerie Anne Sackey was a Geography teacher at Opoku Ware School and an officer at Department of Games and Wildlife.[1] She was an author as well. She published a number of books such as " The Visitor", "The Ghanaian Woman" and "The Life and Times of R. R Amposah".[4] She also write Kwame Okoampa- Ahoofe, Jr., Ph.D.[5]
Personal life
editShe married to Mr Horace Walter Kofi- Sackey. This couple had three children; Michael, Joseph and Anne.[1][6] She was having seven grandchildren.[7]
Death
editValerie Anne Sackey died on 31St December 2023. Her death was reported by the John Jerry Rawlings foundation on 2nd January 2024.[1][8][9][10][11]
The late Valerie Anne Sackey was buried on Tuesday, 30th January 2024 at Lashibi Funeral Home.[12][13][14]
