Viviene Dela Cruz is a Filipino Actress and Researcher/Writer who used to work with GMA Kapuso Network for 13 years. A detailed list of her shows and the roles she played in GMA Network is listed below
Viviene and her family immigrated to Toronto, Canada for good in 2009 and after a few years, she is blessed to be able to go back to her love and passion for acting and writing even on Canadian soil.
She is currently the Head Writer, Producer and one of the two hosts for Shine!,” a lifestyle talk show airing on Filipino TV under the Ethnic Channels Group in Canada. Shine! is a platform for Filipino immigrants like Viv, who, through hard work and persistence, managed to dazzle, stand out and win awards in North America in their respective fields – be it performing arts, engineering, animation, theatre, even in the police force among others.
She is also the main host and Creative Director of the Social TV show, “Get Starstruck”. This is an online wholesome talk show that serves as a “Fan Day”; created for Filipinos around the world who would wish to get connected in real time with their favourite celebrities. The fun show aims to give joy to our kababayans as it serves as a panacea for homesickness since most couldn’t go home to the Philippines during the pandemic. Its 3 segments allow pre-selected fans from various countries to get up close and personal with their fave Pinoy celebrities though fun games and heartwarming surprises. “Get Starstruck” is produced by her own production company, Sun Stand Still Productions.
Among her most recent projects this 2023 were Writer & Director of the “REMINISCIN’ 2.0” Concert with Joey G and Jinky Vidal; Writer and Emcee of “LOVE MOVES“ Concert with singers Nina & Luke Mejares; Writer and Emcee of AMP Star Magic Voice Showcase with Ice Seguerra and Event Emcee of the Vaughan Fiesta Extravaganza and Hamilton Fiesta Extravaganza.
Viviene is set to shoot a movie in Canada this 2023 as the lead actor’s close friend in the Judy Anne Santos and Sam Milby starrer, The Diary of Mrs. Winters produced by AMP and Happy Karga Films.
In July 2021, The Design Proposal was launched on TFC Canada. This is an interior design show which is hosted by international interior designer, Sani Baluyot. Viviene excitedly plays the roles of Executive Producer, Director and Writer for this world-class informational show that displays Filipino ingenuity.
She is also Writer and Director of the docu-talk show, Fil-Canadians Celebrate Canada scheduled to air on June 27th on OMNI Television, in cooperation with the Filipino Heritage Council of Canada.
Viviene was also an FM radio host/writer for On the Flip Side airing at CMR 101.3 FM every Sunday night.
In July 2020, she successfully directed, script wrote and co-hosted the 6-hour long virtual show, the Vaughan Fiesta Extravaganza, Virtual Muna produced by MCBN-TV which catered to the Filipino audience all over the world.
In late 2019, Viviene had a special cameo role in the Tagalog comedy film, Bromance, directed by Beverly Vergel, produced by MCBN-Toronto. She was also cast as the lead’s best friend in the drama movie, Temptations of a Hero directed by Sam de Leon of Pinoy Dreams.
Currently, she is also busy doing TV, Print and Web commercials and acting on made-for-TV movies. Among her recent projects in 2023 that still plays on TV and Social Media are the commercials for Good Life Fitness (What Makes a Fitfluencer?), Canada Oil & Gas Company (The Coffee Shop), ViaSox (Fall Collection), Cineplex (The Manager), and she plays the role of Floor Director for upcoming movie“Sunshine and Rainbows”.
For the last 8 years, she has also ventured into her global health and wellness business- ARBONNE. As an entrepreneur, she has progressively worked her way up and is now the Regional Vice-President in the company’s rank and made Top 10 in Canada in 2016 and 2019.
Because of the immense personal growth and mindset mastery that she has developed as an entrepreneur, she is now looking to become a certified Business Coach/Life Coach to amplify the impact that she makes on other people’s lives.
Viviene has a plethora of experience in acting (drama, comedy) directing, television and event scriptwriting,modeling/acting for TV commercials and copywriting. Apart from banking 13 years of experience in the TV industry with GMA-7, She has also developed her expertise in creative copywriting for beauty brands and corporate marketing and communications.
She graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines, College of Mass Communications where she majored in Broadcasting and was trained by the best directors and actors in Philippine TV and Film. She is also currently enrolled in Advanced Acting Classes in AMP-Star Magic Workshops, personally trained by Director Rahyan Carlos who is the only Filipino licensed to train the Chubbuck Technique in Acting.
Viviene is currently living in Ajax, Ontario with her husband, and two talented children who are also active in doing TV commercials and performing in the Toronto showbiz scene.
