Vladimir Sagaydo is one of the most outstanding musicians of his generation, promoting Mexican culture and music internationally.[1][2][3][4]
Originally a solo cellist, pianist, and composer, he has been awarded in numerous international music competitions. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and Special Music School of State Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory respectively.
He has received courses and private lessons from Jorma Panula, Peter Feranec, Siegfried Palm, Mstislav Rostropovich and Mariss Jansons in Mexico City, Vienna, and Moscow. He was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Pierre Monteux School & Maine Festival, United States.
Early life and education
editVladimir Sagaydo was born and raised in Leningrad, Russia. He began his musical training at a young age, showing exceptional talent in playing the cello. He attended Special Music School of State Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory for his early education in music.
Sagaydo continued his studies at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Musical Performance in 1988, specializing in cello under the guidance of Nikitin, Anatoly Pavlovich.
He further pursued his master's degree in The art of concert performance at the Russian State University A.N. Kosygin and pursued postgraduate studies in opera, ballet, and symphony orchestra conducting at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, studying with Vassily Sinaisky.
Career
editAfter completing his formal education, Sagaydo embarked on a successful career as a professional musician. He quickly gained recognition for his virtuosity and expressive performances, earning him invitations to perform with prestigious orchestras and ensembles around the world. [See bellow]
Sagaydo's career highlights include winning several international music competitions in cities such as St. Petersburg, Moscow, Dresden, and Paris. He has also been honored with the Russian national state prize "Hope of Russia" for his contributions to the field of music.
In addition to his accomplishments as a solo cellist, Sagaydo is also an accomplished pianist and composer. He has composed several pieces for cello and piano, which have been performed by him and other musicians in various concert venues.[5][6][7][8]
Throughout his career, Sagaydo has been dedicated to promoting Mexican culture and music on the international stage. He has collaborated with numerous Mexican composers and ensembles, showcasing the rich diversity of Mexican music to audiences around the world.
During his career, Sagaydo also had the opportunity to participate in master classes with renowned cellists such as Siegfried Palm, Mstislav Rostropovich and Nikitin, Anatoly Pavlovich, further honing his skills and musical interpretation.
Personal life
editHe moved to Mexico in 2000 and has since established himself.
Outside of his musical career, Vladimir Sagaydo has a variety of hobbies. He enjoys listening to jazz music and Mexican boleros, and he is also passionate about dancing salsa and cumbia.
Additionally, Sagaydo is actively involved in promoting Mexican music both nationally and internationally. He is committed to philanthropic projects, particularly in the realm of musical philanthropy. One of his notable endeavors involves working with marginalized children and cancer patients, providing musical education and enjoyment to enhance their quality of life.
From 2014 to 2024, Sagaydo served as the Director of the Orchestra of Marginalized young people, a project dedicated to providing musical opportunities and support to children in need.[3]
