Water and Garri is a Nigerian movie that draws inspiration from Tiwa Savage's 2021 EP of the same name.[1][2] The film centers around an ambitious fashion designer returning to her African home after spending ten years in the U.S., following a family bereavement.[3][4]

Plot summary

edit

Aisha, a talented fashion designer, returns to her native home[5] after a decade-long absence, seeking solace and redemption. However, she's met with a harsh reality: violence has escalated, and tensions run high in her once-peaceful community.[6]

As Aisha reunites with loved ones, including old friends and family, she's forced to confront the emotional scars of her past. Guilt and regret resurface, threatening to overwhelm her. With every step, Aisha must navigate the complexities of her own healing journey.[7][8]

Will she find the courage to face her demons, make amends, and rediscover her roots, or will the weight of her past define her future?[9]
