Things to Do in Iloilo
There are many fun things to do in Iloilo! You can visit *Iloilo River Esplanade*. It’s a park beside the river where you can walk, bike, or jog. It’s full of green trees, flowers, and fresh air. Many people go there to exercise and relax.
Another great place is *Molo Church*. This is an old, beautiful church that looks like a castle. Inside, there are many statues of saints, and it’s called a “feminist church” because it has lots of statues of women saints. The church is made of white and gray stones, and it’s a great spot to take pictures.
If you like history, you can visit the *Jaro Cathedral*. It’s another big and old church. It has a tall bell tower that stands on the opposite side of the street. Many people go there to pray or to see its beautiful design.
You can also check out *Calle Real*. It’s a street with old buildings from the Spanish times. The buildings are colorful and look like they belong to a different time in history. It feels like stepping back into the past!
Iloilo’s Delicious Food
Iloilo is known for its yummy food. You should try *La Paz Batchoy*. It’s a warm noodle soup with meat, liver, and crunchy pork skin. Another famous food is *Pancit Molo*. It’s like a dumpling soup with tasty meat inside soft dumplings.
The People of Iloilo
The best thing about Iloilo City is the people. They are known for being kind and polite. They speak a language called *Hiligaynon*, but they also understand Filipino and English. They love to smile and help others.
Festivals and Fun
If you visit in January, you can join the Dinagyang Festival. It's a big, happy celebration with dancing, music, and parades in the streets. Everyone wears colorful costumes and smiles a lot!
